I really like Jim Toplin's book "building traditional kitchen cabinet" I found it help me not only in the construction but also on the decision making process for style and material and a load of little details that that show Toplin's is also a better writer than Proulx. Prouls'x book are not bad at all but they are heavily oriented on the construction phase. Cabinet Making Don't get me wrong, I like Norm Abram. I think he has a ton of talent and does a bang up job instructing and propagating woodworking but I have to say it pains me severely to watch him build regular, run-of-the-mill, everyday cabinets.
